Good detailed work except that Spiros Pisanos himself ( he is still alive ) confirmed to me personally that the background color of ‘Miss Plainfield’ was always blue – not red
No idea , as well , why the insignia undersurface appear on both sides of the plane

    With my compliments

  2. GEORGIADIS DIMITRIOS Says:

Mr Mansolas thank you for the info. The background color of “Miss Plaifield” is a light blue one. But do you know this color matches a FS color?
About the undersurface insignia: a friend who studies the USAF told me that it was rare, but in some aircrafts the insignia appears on both sides of the undersurface of the wings. He also confirmed that the two insignia were in different size!
Do you have a confirmatiom by Mr Pisanos thwt there was only one insignia there? Please let me know!

  3. GEORGIADIS DIMITRIOS Says:

Well, Mr Mansolas confirms that Steve Pisanos had confirmed him that:
a- BACKGROUND COLOUR OF ‘MISS PLAINFIELD’ IS BLUE
b- THERE IS ONLY ON INSIGNIA ON UNDERSURFACE OF THE WINGS

  4. John Stournaras Says:

Mr Mansolas, nice meeting you again. Well about the nose art, you must know better. Unfortunately i did not know at that time and the only one available from lifelike was red. About the bigger insignia under the left wing i think you are wrong. If you see here you can clearly see the insignia under the left wing

  5. GEORGIADIS DIMITRIOS Says:

Then, … maybe there was a time that the insignia was carried on both sides of on undersurface of the wings!
